Born in a family acquiring power and wealth, Dede Wilsey intellectual styles of fund raising comes naturally as being one of the successful philanthropic of recent times. Her late husband Al Wilsey, was also a reputed philanthropist who helped her gain immense experience within this generous field.
Dede Wilsey positive attitude and leadership qualities led her to be the president of the board of trustees of the Fine Arts museums of San Francisco. She achieved to raise more than $200 million in fund raising from more than 7,000 private donors to rebuild the Young Museum in the Golden Gate Park. In addition she has also served on many philanthropic projects including the San Francisco opera, the San Francisco Ballet and the capital campaigns for Grace Cathedral.
